Places and Sights in Downtown Anchorage

John and I spent the afternoon of July 4th walking around downtown. There was a huge party on the parkstrip that we avoided...too many people and loud music. Instead we walked about three miles in a 4 by 8 block square. The hanging baskets are huge and at their peak. Petunias were the most popular this year. The Convention and Visitor Center hasn't changed at all...

We parked in front of the theater and our first place to check out was the old federal building that is now the National Parks Building. Lots of good information and maps of the campgrounds and trails in Alaska.

Lots more to show you as soon as I get the pictures organized. The weather is remaining to be HOT with hazy conditions from the wildfires in Denali and Kenai areas. We had to put fan in the bedroom even. Unbelievable, and the temperature is ALMOST 80 degrees!
