Boo....sending handfuls of candy to each of you tonight. It is rather chilly but a clear night with NO snow on the ground for the trick or treaters in Anchorage. I've been playing on the StampinUp!Digital program AGAIN....yes, housework can wait!
This uses the Medallion Background Stamp that I just had to have...and I am finally using it. Lots to learn though with sizing and printing...I thought this would be larger than it is...
Hope You All Have A Safe Halloween...no ghost or goblins grabbing ya!

New Header, Maybe!
Halloween Count Down
At the Talkeetna weekend retreat I worked on this project with Lisa Allington. It is wickedly adorable. Each square is a pocket envelope we made and decorated. I still need to add the date numbers and maybe some more embellishments but it is hanging here for now. My plan is to put all of our past Halloween pictures in the envelopes....maybe that will be done for next year...Have to find, reminisce, crop and print them first.

Katie
I thought this would be a good way to let you all know what has been going on at our place this past week. We took Katie in to our vet's to have a lump checked out. She did a biopsy and that report came back on the 16th that is was cancer....a fast growing but slow spreading type. On Wednesday she had surgery to remove the 3 inch lump from her neck/shoulder area and was back home with us by 6pm. She is shaved and has a big incision/stitches but seems to be doing okay. She was very restless all night- wanted to eat and drink - typical Katie! John is with her today so I bet there are naps taking place. We will have a post operative appointment in 5 and then again in 14 days so will know more after each appointment. I will let you all know what we find out.

Big Wild Life
On my way to the dental appointment I had to wait at the red light and this bus was in front of me...Not sure why I took a picture but it seemed like a good thing to do at the time. Guess my life in Anchorage is big and wild to some degree....It was a good check up---dental implants look great and I can eat whatever I want to now...told Doc that was the worst thing he could tell me....I've been without popcorn for... forever it seems.... and don't need to start eating it again. We chatted for a bit and I ask if I could take a picture out of his office window...
From the 12th floor of the Denali Towers the view is unbelievable. I could of taken tons of pictures but only did two today...deleted the second one as I was backspacing so it will be posted another time...I hope to go back and do a wide angle of the whole town.
Thanks for the request of Sleeping Lady...I love having a mission!!!!!!!

Pumpkin Crisp
I've seen other blogs that post great pictures of all the ingredients needed lined up perfectly and then of the finished dish ...but...No pictures posted today. Just a very yummy recipe that you should try soon.
Pumpkin Crisp
Submitted to Allrecipes by Bunny
Prep Time 30 Minutes
Cook Time 1 Hour
Yields 18 Servings
"Yellow cake mix stars in this delicious alternative to the classic pumpkin pie. It's mixed with egg and melted butter to form the yummy crust for the crisp. And once the pumpkin filing is in place, it's made into a streusel topping. Serve with freshly whipped cream, or scoops of vanilla ice cream.
INGREDIENTS:
1 18.25 ounce package yellow cake mix
1 egg
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 29 ounce can pumpkin puree
2 eggs
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup white sugar
2/3 cup evaporated milk
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Set aside 1 cup cake mix for the topping. Combine remaining cake mix, 1 egg and melted butter. Pat into a 9 X 13 inch baking pan.
2. In a large bowl, mix pumpkin, 2 eggs, spices, 1/2 cup sugar and the milk. Pour pumpkin mixture over the cake mix crust.
3. In a small bowl, combine 1 cup cake mix and 3/4 cup sugar. Cut in 1/2 cup softened butter until mixture resembles course crumbs. Sprinkle mixture on top of pumpkin mixture.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes.
I've had this dessert THREE times this month and it is delicious plain even. Hope you make it and enjoy it.

Pumpkins and Gourds
I sent John on a photography mission. The radio advertisement for Bell's Nursery caught my attention and I thought it would be the perfect chance for John to take tons of pictures. I had visions of the Pennsylvania Autumns with all the pumpkins, cornstalks, apples and gourds that I saw last time I was home. So have a seat and view ALL the pictures John took at Bell's on DeArmoun Road.

The Love Birds
October 9th is our 33rd anniversay and I couldn't resist posting our wedding picture. It was hard to get a good picture of a picture without the flash leaving a huge glare but these two turned out good enough to post. Yep! that John and me right after our ceremony-posing for the required formal pictures.
And here we are enjoying ourselves at our reception. Cutting the cake - and yes he did try to smash it in my face!!!!!

Digital Scrapbooking
I've been playing with Stampin Up's My Digital Studio the past few days and thought I would post one of the pages. It's from Danielle and Scott's Wedding. Guess I should of picked the largest printing option...but I am learning as I go -so quite happy with my progress and this page.
I am not sure about the printing process so I will try it once -before I can decide. The layouts are sent into Stampin Up and they print the albums. A whole new way of scrapping for me!!!!

Delta Junction
Here's a few pictures of the recent hunt. Chris shot this bison on the first day of season. Wahoo! Then they all hunted birds...grouse?
Becky and Katie shot this one...unsure which one can claim it though so they BOTH do.
Caribou walking down the road in front of their truck. They had a good time in Delta Junction- good friends, good food and good weather- and it was a successful hunting trip.

On 10-03-09 Chris turns 27
Twenty seven years ago today...WOW... and I remember that day as if it was yesterday...we became the proud parents of a precious and perfect baby boy. Christopher Cory Scudder was born at 5:13 pm at the Madigan Army Medical Center on Ft Lewis, Washington. This is the page I made when I first started scrap booking and I put it on the blog to show the border that I've cropped off (sorry) that ties in with the following picture. Last night I searched goggle (probably looked at a thousand items) for a birthday picture and this is the one I decided on. No hunters, no fishermen, no firemen, no cakes or balloons but a bright HAPPY SMILEY FACE...

Flat Top
After work tonight we drove up to Upper Huffman and Glen Alps to take some pictures. It was so windy and cold - we only stayed for a little bit- and I turned the seat warmer on for drive back down the hill. It was very hazy over the city- not very pretty. The yellow leaves are falling fast- now it is brown and rust colored. John didn't know he was in my view finder. Couple views of Flat Top from the parking lot.
