I usually know what I am putting on my blog but tonight I'm finding it hard to convey my real feelings here.
Another Juneau weekend but this time I feel so far from home- just as I was getting ready to go to work this morning I received an email from my girlfriend, Joey, that told me about the avalanche in Grandview involving a mutual friends husband. I immediately called Joey and John for information. Alan Gage was with several friends
snowmachining when the avalanche happened. Two riders were caught and buried, one was killed and Alan is still missing until the weather permits the rescuers to go back.
I do not know Alan personally, but his wife,
DaLon has become a really good friend. We share a passion for Starbucks and
Scrapbooking and have spent several evenings together working on our layouts. She's a tremendous helper with the computer and blogging and has left me several comments on my blog. I feel like I should be there with her but I know she understands why I am not. They have been on my mind constantly today and I hope you will add her and their two young boys to your thoughts and prayers, also.
Our sincere condolences and sympathy goes out to their families.

At the neighbors barn... Oh, the smell...trying to keep his wool clean so dressed in the blankie...I wondered why he would be cold...

Spring was in the air. Blue sky and buds coming out of the birch trees. I am happy with my pages so far and ready to unpack and work on it at home now. 
One of the games involved candy...not this pretty red candy though. We had to guess what kind of melted chocolate candy bar was inside a disposable diaper....we could touch, smell and taste if we wanted to but...yucky...visual was enough! I may never eat another Hershey Bar again!
Shawn's Mother made the diaper cake and they used it as the centerpiece at the table I sat at. She tucked so many little things between the diapers...super cute idea!
The food was scrumptious-and lots of it...of course I saved room for a slice of cake and punch.
I've known Michelle since high school days when she came around with Chris and his friends.
Oops... forgot to turn them around...sorry!
And finally Bear- he misses his Mom,Walks and Home but adjusts to our lifestyle pretty well.

Looking out the other way is Winnie...she is so cold and unhappy this time of year! That is Bear on the look out and guarding the steps...
Bench on our front deck- The snow in that pine tree makes the branches droop- I opened the blinds so I can see it add up.
Neighbor still has her Halloween decorations out- I noticed the straw hair is blowing in the wind! 
Have some pictures on my new phone- have to figure out that system of transferring to blog!
